You guys are right, you are scratching the surface. Zapier and IFTTT are great tools for small businesses to automate simple tasks. Imagine automating the entire onboarding of a new employee. I don’t mean simply digitized “paperwork” going back and forth, but imagine this logic;
“….when a new applicant accepts an approved offer with start date and the offer letter has been digitally signed, then provision an O365 account, create a request for IT to create a phone account, baseline a laptop and provide other gear, create an account in system X, create a request for a new security badge…etc.”
Anyone who has been in this business for a while is able to translate a customer’s requirement into a reality on a site, create functionality. We are in a unique time in history, with the baby-boomers heading into retirement and their positions are being left unfilled and technology at a point now where we can create workflows tieing in disparate legacy systems to create efficiency where there is none. We are uniquely suited for this task, translating customers crazy requests into reality.
