I was surprised however how much emphasis was put on finding out what browser and device the client has. While that is important for generally getting approval from the client, what wasn’t mentioned was how important it is to determine what browsers the client’s target market is using. Google Analytics stores this. I have a number of clients in a variety of industries, and some of them still have up to 20% of their visitors using Internet Explorer (and not even Edge, but Explorer). Sadly, 1 in 5 users can’t be ignored, so these sites all need to be tested on Explorer in addition to Chrome and Safari. Deep sigh…
